  • Students will demonstrate proficiency in written communications by creating written document that are clearly written, with appropriate content and conclusions.

Students will be analytical problem solvers.

  • Students will demonstrate the ability to formulate, solve, and discuss business problems that requires quantitative analysis.

Students will be proficient with a wide range of relevant business-related technology.

  • Students will be knowledgeable about current technology options and applications.
  • Students will demonstrate the ability to use business-related technology under appropriate circumstances.

Students will have business skills that include an international emphasis.

Learning Goals and Objectives

The Pamplin MBA is designed to provide graduate professional education to students from a variety of backgrounds. The program is designed to prepare its graduates for a professional career in business. We focus on an entrepreneurial style of management combined with the use of innovative technologies for global businesses. As an outcome of the program, students should be able to: solve business problems requiring general business knowledge and analytical skills; think critically; contribute in teams; and demonstrate skill in oral and written communication. The students are expected to become aware of the specific challenges in global businesses today and be able to operate ethically under different business environments.

Goal 1

Our students will be effective oral and written communicators.

Objectives:

  • Students will prepare and deliver a professional oral solution to a business case.
  • Students will prepare a written case analysis that demonstrates analytical thinking and writing ability.

Goal 2

Our students will be analytical problem solvers.

  • Students will develop a solution to a business case that requires quantitative analysis.

Goal 3

Our students will be ethical decision makers.

Objectives:

  • Students will demonstrate knowledge of ethical frameworks in business.
  • When presented with a business case students will identify the ethical dimensions related to it and deliver an acceptable solution.
