Biography
Kristian Braekkan started his doctoral studies in August 2006. Kristian has taught International Management, Organizational Behavior, and HR Staffing and Development at Virginia Tech. He is interested in both micro and macro related issues in management. His research interests are related to Human Resource Management, Strategic HR, Psychological Contracts, and how organizations develop and execute forecasts. He is also curently working on research related to Item Response Theory and more specifically "the generalized graded unfolding model."
Kristian has been involved within academia for the last few years prior to arriving in Blacksburg, and most recently at Georgetown College (KY) where he taught macroeconomics, international finance, and principles of finance at the undergraduate level. When not working, Kristian enjoys spending time with his wife Katie and their two dogs. They both enjoy the outdoors, and in particular running. Together they complete between 50 and 60 miles each week to stay in shape.
Kristian is a member of the Academy of Management and the Society
for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
