Biography

Anthony T. (Terry) Cobb is an Associate Professor of Management at Virginia Tech. He received his bachelors degree in psychology from California State University at Northridge and his master's degree in urban planning from Wayne State University in Michigan. He received his Ph.D. in administration from the University of California at Irvine where he specialized in organizational behavior.

Dr. Cobb specializes in organizational politics and organizational justice and has published in such outlets as the Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Group and Organization Studies, Consultation, Human Relations, Human Resource Management, the Human Resource Development Quarterly, the Journal of Organizational Change Management, the Journal of Business Research, and the Journal of Applied Social Psychology. His work also appears in annual reviews of scholarly work such as Research in Organizational Change and Development and Negotiation in Organizations and has been reprinted in outlets such as Classics of Organization Theory and Organization Development: Theory, Practice, and Research as well a appearing in a number of professional proceedings. His work has been translated into German, Italian, and Chinese.

Dr. Cobb has worked for, consulted with, or trained personnel for a variety of organizations and enjoys international travel. He was a keynote speaker at the International Conference of Human Resource Management in Taiwan and has taught at Lincoln University in New Zealand. Dr. Cobb has served on the Executive Board of the Southern Management Association and twice as chairperson for their annual programs. He has also served on the editorial board of the Journal of Management Inquiry and continues to serve as a reviewer for a wide variety of journals and annual meetings of scholarly associations.
