- June 26, 2009 - Robert B. Pamplin Sr.: “In addition to my education, I received three things from Virginia Tech that have meant more to me in my life and in the business world than anything else,” Robert B. Pamplin once said. “They are honesty, discipline, and humility.” Pamplin died June 25 at age 97 after a long illness.

Pamplin alumnus Vahan Janjigian tells what you can and can’t learn from the world’s greatest investor in his book, Even Buffett Isn’t Perfect. Janjigian is VP and executive director of the Forbes Investors Advisory Institute.
- October 15, 2008 - Building a mortgage industry from scratch in Russia. James Cook (FIN ’87) helped start Russia’s first mortgage bank, led an initiative to offer the first instant credit cards in Russia, and launched his own company with 75 million pounds raised in an IPO on the London Stock Exchange.
- October 01, 2008 - Business Horizons Draws Students and Recruiters. More than 1,700 students attended Business Horizons last month.
- September 20, 2008 - New MBA Students Tackle Quest. First-year MBA students at Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business will undergo the traditional Quest orientation of outdoor problem-solving and team-building exercises on Friday, August 22nd.
- July 10, 2008 - EMBA Students Take Trip to Europe. Executive MBA students in the Commonwealth cohort wound up their studies with a trip to Europe in May.
- June 12, 2008 - Bridge-to-Business Program Launched. Finance professor Dilip Shome discusses the modules in the finance track of the Bridge-to-Business program the college launched this summer to prepare Ph.D.s in non-business, but related, disciplines for new careers as business faculty members.
- May 12, 2008 - Pamplin 2008 Spring Commencement - At commencement ceremonies this spring, 802 Pamplin undergraduates and 124 graduate students (69 MBAs, 45 MACIS, and 10 Ph.D.s) received their degrees.
- April 22, 2008 - Undergraduate Courses Offered in Northern Virginia - Pamplin undergraduates now have the opportunity to enroll in summer school courses at Virginia Tech’s Northern Virginia Center in the Washington, D.C., metro area.

- February, 02, 2008 - Pamplin Welcomes New Executive MBA Students - Pamplin welcomed its newest executive MBA students during orientation exercises in Blacksburg this month.
- January 31, 2008 - The college’s international programs office organized a study-abroad fair in the atrium of Pamplin Hall last fall to promote its offerings for this summer. Six programs are offered in Asia and Europe for the first summer session; another two programs are scheduled for the second summer session.

- September 24, 2007 - Pamplin College Launches Innovative Program to Address Business-Ph.D. Faculty Shortage - Responding to critical doctoral faculty shortages and rising enrollments in management education, Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business has launched an innovative program to prepare individuals with non-business doctorates for faculty positions in business.
- September 11, 2007 - National Association of Black Accountants Organized - Pamplin students and faculty member Lynette Wood have established the Virginia Tech student chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA).
- August 27, 2007 - New MBAs get USB Flash Drives - Students offered admission to the MBA program received a small welcome gift in their information packets this spring: a 128 MB USB flash drive containing information about the MBA program and graduate student life at Virginia Tech.
- August 13, 2007 - MBA Quest - First-year MBAs participate in a series of exercises during the MBA program’s annual orientation known as Quest. The outdoor challenges are designed to allow students to get to know one another in a fun atmosphere while promoting problem-solving and team-building skills.
- August 3, 2007 - How Can Business Schools Do Well By Doing Good? - Join Pamplin management professor Michael Badawy and others for a live and free webcast of this topic in a session chaired by Badawy at the annual meeting of the Academy of Management in Philadelphia.
- May 25 , 2007 - Pamplin Summer Study Abroad Programs - The Pamplin College of Business offers students eight faculty-led study-abroad programs this summer that explore business and culture in Asia, Europe, and Africa.
- May 6, 2007 - Pamplin May 2007 Graduation - A total of 786 Pamplin undergraduates will receive their diplomas at the Pamplin College of Business undergraduate commencement ceremony this Saturday, May 12, at 2 p.m. in Cassell Coliseum.
- April 25, 2007 - Classes Resume - The Pamplin College of Business appreciates the sympathy and support our alumni, friends, and so many others have expressed for the affected families and our faculty and staff in light of the tragedy at Virginia Tech.
- March 23, 2007 - Pulitzer Prize-winning Doris Kearns Goodwin Speaks - Pulitzer Prize-winning historian, author, and TV commentator Doris Kearns Goodwin gave the Cutchins Distinguished Lecture on campus recently.

Associate professor of management Wanda Smith leads engineers from India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation through a group exercise in a recent campus workshop on advanced leadership organized by Pamplin’s Management and Professional Development office and Department of Finance.
- March 6, 2007 - Professional MBA Launched! The college successfully launched its new Professional Master of Business Administration program last fall, enrolling 27 students in the entering class.
