Graduate Degrees

Pamplin’s graduate students will receive their diplomas at the Graduate School ceremony on Friday, May 15, at 3 p.m. in Cassell Coliseum. The number includes 35 MBAs, 58 master’s and 4 Ph.D. students in accounting and information systems, and 1 master’s student in marketing. Businessman, philanthropist, and statesman Nicholas Frank Taubman will deliver the keynote address. Students at graduation

Undergraduate Degrees

Pamplin undergraduates will receive their diplomas in the college’s commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 16, at 2 p.m. in Cassell Coliseum. This ceremony will begin with an introduction by Dean Richard E. Sorensen, followed by the national anthem, to be sung by Kurtis Parks (FIN ’04). Jane Machin, assistant professor of marketing, and Stuart Vyule, of Christiansburg, Va., the college’s 2009 outstanding senior, will deliver welcoming remarks.

Martinsville attorney and city council member Kimble Reynolds (MKTG ’88, M.S./EDPE ’95) will be honored as Pamplin’s Distinguished Alumnus.

Associate dean for undergraduate programs Candice Clemenz and associate dean for graduate programs Stephen Skripak will read the graduates’ names. Undergraduate degrees will be awarded in accounting and information systems, business information technology, economics, finance, hospitality and tourism management, management, and marketing management.
