Registration for New Student Orientation should be completed through your HokieSpa account. For step-by-step instructions, please visit the New Student Programs website.

Before Orientation

Before Orientation

First-Year Students:

  • All Pamplin College of Business students are pre-registered for required business courses, regardless of business major. Schedule adjustments are made as VT receives AP, IB, and transfer credits.  Students will not be able to view or make adjustments to their schedule until they attend Day 2 of orientation.
    • Note: Please bring a copy of test scores (AP/IB) and transcripts for any dual enrollment courses with you to orientation.
  • Please complete all requirements on the Pre-Orientation checklist before attending orientation.
  • Make sure to register for and attend the Pamplin Orientation Prep Webinar.
  • Transfer Students:
    • All Pamplin College of Business transfer students are pre-registered for classes based on their admitted business major. Schedule adjustments are made as VT receives AP, IB, and transfer credits.  Students will not be able to view or make adjustments to their schedule until they attend orientation. 
      • Note: Please bring a copy of test scores (AP/IB) and transcripts with you to orientation.
    • If you completed the university’s foreign language requirement in high school, please have high school transcripts sent to the University Registrar. You can find more information about the language requirement here.
    • Please complete all requirements on the Pre-Orientation checklist
    • Make sure to register for and attend the Pamplin Orientation Prep Webinar.

During Orientation

Transfer Students

  • Transfer Orientation is a one-day program held in late June. If you have not already done so, please register for Orientation through HokieSpa.
  • The afternoon session will be hosted by the Pamplin College of Business. Students will work with academic advisors in designated computer labs to make adjustments to their fall schedule.
  • Students will receive additional details from New Student Programs.

First-Year Students

  • First-Year Orientation is a two-day program held in July. If you have not already done so, please register for Orientation through HokieSpa.
  • All Pamplin College of Business students and guests will attend a mandatory session on Day One, as well as a mandatory class registration session in designated computer labs on Day Two.
    • While students participate in the class registration session on Day Two, there will be a concurrent session for families and guests.
  • Students will receive additional details from New Student Programs.

International Students

  • International students will attend a four-day program held in late August. Please register through HokieSpa if you have not already done so.
  • All Pamplin College of Business international students will attend a mandatory class registration session on August 24th.
  • Students will receive additional details from the Cranwell International Center.
After Orientation

After Orientation

Complete the following online programs offered by the Division of Students Affairs

  • Haven (first-year and transfer students)
  • DiversityEdu (first-year students)
  • AlcoholEdu (first-year students)

Make schedule changes, only if necessary. It is highly recommended that students not make changes to required business courses.  If a student drops a required course, the Pamplin College of Business cannot guarantee that the course can be added back to their schedule.
