Career Launch is a one-day, conference-style event where students will be able to attend professional development sessions, explore career opportunities in different industries, and expand their network. Student attendees will have the opportunity to network with recruiters, business professionals, and career services.

The Pamplin Career Services team recently hosted the fall 2023 Business Horizons Career Fair at the Commonwealth Ballroom in Squires Student Center. The career fair continues to be one of Pamplin’s largest events, so much so that, for the first time in the event’s 40-plus year history, the event was expanded to take place over two days.

“The ‘Real’ Path to C-Suite Opportunities,” a four-part workshop held during the 2020-21 academic year, was created to help remove obstacles – such as the lack of corporate connections – facing minority students interested in careers in real estate. The workshops were the product of a collaboration between the Program in Real Estate, KCDG Inc., and real estate investment trust JBG Smith.

Alex Byrum's quest for independence led him to conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, then back home to Virginia’s Tidewater region, and, ultimately, to Blacksburg. In January 2021, it will lead Byrum home once again, this time to Smithfield Foods in Norfolk, where he will begin work in Smithfield’s Career Foundation Program.
